About Lakeland, TN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Lakeland, Tennessee is a Shelby County suburb of Memphis. As of 2017, nearly 13,000 people resided in this community. Unlike surrounding cities, Lakeland’s history is not centered on Civil War battles, and the railroad did not pass through the city. Instead, Lakeland grew as a farming community, with older farmhouses still dot the region. As the youngest city in Shelby County, much of the Lakeland’s history is still being written to this day.

Lakeland has been home to various attractions throughout the years. The now-defunct Lakeland Amusement Park was located here, and this park included a miniature railway and the Huff ‘n’ Puff Railroad for families to enjoy. Today, visitors might be entertained by an afternoon at Delta Blues Winery or the Stonebridge Golf Club. Nearby restaurants also include El Mezcal, Cracker Barrel, and the Emerald Thai Restaurant, while residents who prefer cooking at home may like to visit Sprouts Farmers Market for natural and organic grocery items.

The climate in Lakeland is characterized by the four major seasons. Winters are cold and wet, but most of this precipitation won’t come from snowfall. In fact, the area only receives about three inches of total accumulation each year. The rest of the precipitation comes from rain, although freezing rain and even ice storms are real possibilities. When this precipitation is coupled with freezing temperatures, dangerous conditions can result in both indoors and outdoors. Fortunately, the right furnace or heat pump can keep area residents and properties safe.

Wet conditions continue through the spring season, but once summer begins, weather patterns tend to shift to hot and humid conditions. Temperatures often reach into the 90s, and the air may feel quite muggy. Most Lakeland residents have traded their window air conditioning units in for a central system over the years, and the right unit will also improve indoor air quality throughout this stuffy season.
