About Oakland, TN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Oakland, Tennessee is a fast-growing town in Fayette County. Between 2000 and 2010, the population increased at a rate of 417.8%, making it the largest gain of any municipality within the tri-state area of Memphis, Tennessee – Mississippi – Arkansas. Today, nearly 8,000 people call the town home, and Oakland has one of the highest numbers of building permits in any Memphis suburb despite its modest population. Previously home to one of the largest egg factories in the state, the economy of Oakland now centers on retail and commercial businesses. Additionally, RING Container Technologies – a company specializing in plastic fabrication – has its headquarters here.

While there aren’t any major attractions in Oakland, there are plenty of interesting businesses. Oakland is home to large retailers such as Walgreens, Kroger, and Walmart, but specialty shops like Twigs-n-Things and Kindred Spirit Style also call the community home. Residents celebrating a special occasion with a night out might also enjoy some of the local restaurants, including Olympic Steakhouse and Loven-Fresh Smokehouse Barbecue.

Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy Oakland and surrounding areas due to the varied weather conditions. Summers here are hot and humid, with average daily highs in the low-90s during July and August. At times, humidity levels can become oppressive, and residents may wish to retreat indoors to stay cool. The right central air conditioner – or even the cooling function on a heat pump system – can make a world of difference when it comes to indoor comfort levels.

Winter weather is markedly different in Oakland, although conditions tend to be mild compared to other parts of the U.S. Average daily highs reach into the 40s, but lows can drop below freezing. Total snowfall accumulation only averages at about three inches per year, but freezing rain and ice storms are real concerns. To prevent pipes and expensive home plumbing systems from freezing, it is important that Oakland residents invest in a reliable and properly-sized heating unit.
